Estudios comparativos sobre el desempeño de las cooperativas: Revisión sistemática de literatura
Resumen
El funcionamiento sistémico de procesos económicos orientados al crecimiento perpetuo de la producción de bienes y servicios con un reparto desigual de la riqueza atenta contra el equilibrio del planeta. Ante esta problemática se observa una toma de conciencia hacia el fomento de economías basadas en empresas cooperativas, por lo que deviene fundamental conocer cómo ha sido el desempeño económico de este modelo empresarial según la evidencia empírica disponible. Las revisiones sistemáticas de literatura científica realizadas hasta la fecha no permiten conocer con claridad si el desempeño económico de las cooperativas es superior o inferior al de las empresas privadas. La presente investigación se propuso realizar una revisión sistemática de literatura científica que comprende estudios comparativos de cooperativas y sus contrapartes capitalistas para determinar cómo se desempeñan las cooperativas en cuanto a desempeño general, productividad, eficiencia y resiliencia. Se empleó la metodología PRISMA para la realización de revisiones sistemáticas con una adecuación al contexto de las investigaciones sobre administración empresarial, así como variables cualitativas que permiten clasificar y agrupar los resultados de la evidencia empírica de los estudios primarios. Se confirma la hipótesis de que las cooperativas tienen un desempeño superior al de las empresas privadas. La investigación finaliza con sugerencias para la comparación de modelos empresariales y la generalización de las conclusiones.
