Abstract
This paper seeks to reflect on the place of the body in cognition based on some contemporary concepts of philosophy and cognitive science. First, the question will be placed in a more general philosophical context: the Mind-Body problem. Subsequently, a program of research and theoretical reflection that has flourished in recent decades will be presented: Embodied Cognition. Finally, there will be a brief review of empirical literature focused on research in psychology, neuroscience, and education. Given the current state of philosophical reflection and research in cognitive science, it does not seem justifiable that the default option is not to consider the body. In conclusion, some practices that are accompanied by this vision will be considered.
