Abstract

Throughout the essay, I will present some arguments related to philosophy and the history of philosophy, to explore a possible connection with the theory of evolution, just as evolutionary epistemology proceeds by making analogy, metaphor or a type of parallelism between the models of evolution and those of the history of science. Firstly, I will analyze some events in the history of philosophy through the Darwinian assumptions of common ancestry and the theory of descent with modifications; secondly, I will make an analogy between philosophy and the evolutionary model proposed by Lynn Margulis, from which I will derive an ethics that can foster another way of inhabiting and dwelling on planet Earth.
